SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury edged Southern Arkansas 4-3 on Sunday at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield. The 21^st ranked Panthers improved to 9-2 while the Muleriders dropped to 2-11.
 
Southern Arkansas won two of the three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.
 
Drury rallied as Nastasia Jedrychowski picked up a 7-6, 6-2 win over Sarah Roy, and Alma Abazi came from a set down to defeat Greta Wallin 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Clara Kuehnle gave Drury their third point with a 6-2, 7-6 win against Serena Gill.
 
The match came down to the number six singles match and Maria Fernanda De La Torre Espejo came through with a three-set win. The junior from Peru edged Kalley Smith 7-5, 4-6, 7-5.
 
The Panthers are back at home on Friday when they host Rockhurst for a match starting at noon at the Cooper Tennis Complex.
