SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury Panthers made up six shots in the second round to move into a 14
th place tie, with Lindenwood going into the third and final round tomorrow at the Payne Stewart Memorial Tournament hosted by Missouri State and Rivercut Golf Club in Springfield.
Drury posted an opening round 321, then 320 in their second 18 holes on Monday moving even with Lindenwood in the 15-team field. Host Missouri State is in first place at 14-over-par and will head into Tuesday with a two-shot lead over Texas-El Paso, a three-stroke lead against Creighton, and a four-shot advantage against fourth-place Oklahoma City.
Taryn Overstreet leads the Panthers and is tied for 47
th in the 88-player field with an 11-over-par 155.
Isabelle Thrall is 14-over-par and tied for 57
th, while
Carmen Fletcher is tied for 62
nd at +15.
Grace Stafford shot +25 in her 36 holes on Monday and is tied for 83
rd, while
Abby Howard is tied for 85
th (+26).
Drury is one of only two teams in the tournament field not at the NCAA Division I level.
Three players enter Tuesday's final round tied for first as Missouri State's Abby Cavaiani, Olivia Schmidt from Arkansas State, and Mackenzie Wilson from Wichita State all shot a two-under-par 142.
The final round starts at 8:30 am on Tuesday at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield.
