EVANSVILLE, Ind.— The Drury women's cross country team finished sixth at NCAA-II Midwest Regional in Evansville, Indiana, on Saturday, one of the best finishes in program history at the regional.
Grand Valley State, ranked number one nationally, won the regional with 28 points. Cedarville, ranked 16
th, was second with 87 points, and Lewis, number nine in Division II, came in third with 92 points. Those three teams earned an automatic bid to the NCAA-II National Championship meet.
The Panthers had 226 points to finish sixth in the field of 32 teams. Wisconsin Parkside finished behind Drury with 278 points while Michigan Tech was eighth with 291.
Drury had three runners place in the top 30.
Zoe Van Dijk, a sophomore from The Netherlands, ran the second-fastest 6,000-meter race in program history posting a time of 21:14.62 to finish 22
nd in the field of 255 runners.
Luz Olivera, a senior and native of Peru, was right behind Van Dijk in 23
rd with a time of 21:15.49.
Bradley Weimer came in 29
th. The junior from Springfield-Central set a personal best and a time now fourth-best in team history, 21:30.96.

nd (21:48.06, 5
th best time ever at DU), and
Alexis Workman was 102
nd (22:43.28, a time that ranks 10
th best in team history).
The Panthers will wait on possibilities of an at-large bid to the NCAA-II National Championships in Joplin, Mo., on Nov. 18.
