INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.— In a battle of regular season division champions, ninth-ranked Indianapolis took the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament championship with a 4-2 win over Drury on Sunday in Indianapolis, Indiana.
 
The Greyhounds, winners of the East Division in the regular season, improved to 17-4. The Panthers, who won the West Division in the GLVC, fell to 15-5.
 
Drury fought back after falling behind 1-0 in doubles to take a 2-1 lead with singles wins from Clara Kuehnle and Ewa Samberger. Kuehlne beat nationally-ranked Margarita Andreiuk 6-0, 6-1, to get the Panthers on the board. The win was Kuehlne's 13^th straight singles victory. Samberger also continued her singles winning streak as she won her 12^th in a row with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Maria Fiacan.
 
Indianapolis evened the match at 2-2 as Anna Novikova defeated Nastasia Jedrychowski 7-5, 6-1, then closed out the match with wins from their number four and number six singles players. Sofia Sharonova, Indianapolis' number six singles player, clinched the championship point in a three-set battle against Drury's Kseniia Eremina, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.
 
The win marked the fourth-straight title for Indianapolis.
 
Drury will wait to see if they have earned a bid to the NCAA-II Tournament later this week. The Panthers were ranked seventh in the latest Midwest Regional rankings.
