SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury women's tennis team received an at-large bid to the NCAA-II Tournament and is seeded fifth in the Midwest Regional. The Panthers are 15-5 and reached the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament championship match last weekend.
Drury will play fourth-seeded Findlay in the three-team sub-regional bracket on Monday, May 1, in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Oilers are 18-5 and received an automatic bid winning the Great Midwest Athletics Conference tournament last weekend.
The winner of the Drury-Findlay match will advance to the sub-regional finals and play host Indianapolis. The Greyhounds have a first-round bye and are seeded first in the Midwest Regional. UIndy is 17-5 and won the GLVC Tournament on Sunday with a 4-2 win over the Panthers.
The winner of the sub-regional advances to the NCAA-II Tournament final site and the round of 16 in Orlando, Florida, May 11-17.
Drury is in the national tournament for the 20
th time in 21 years and their 24
th tournament overall. The Panthers won 10 regional titles and have reached the quarterfinals twice.
