INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced its first women's tennis player of the week on February 12. Drury's Leana Chanove earned the honor after a 4-0 opening week.

Chanove went 4-0 in the opening week of the season. Against Harding, in the season opener, she won the second doubles line with teammate Franca Piaggi 6-2 and then won the top singles line in three sets. Against Northeastern State, Chanove and Piaggi won their doubles match 6-3. Chanove took down the Riverhawks' top singles player 6-0 and 6-1.

Her win in singles against Harding marked her 40th career singles win.

The honor is Chanove's first career. She is the first Panther to earn the award since Ewa Samberger on April 9, 2025.

Chanove and the Panthers are back on the court February 14 against Evangel at Cooper Tennis Complex with a 5 pm first serve.
