Drury earns another sweep with 7-0 win at William Jewell

LIBERTY, Mo.— The Drury Panthers recorded their fifth-straight shutout with a 7-0 win at William Jewell on Friday in Liberty, Missouri.
 
It was Drury's sixth consecutive win overall and improved their record to 11-4 and 3-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Cardinals fell to 7-13 and 0-2 in the GLVC.
 
Drury won all three doubles matches and their lead doubles team of Ewa Samberger and Kseniia Eremina swept their way to a 6-0 win over Julia Santos and Maggie Shocklee.
 
The Panthers won each of their six singles matches. Nastasia Jedrychowski, ranked 38th nationally, defeated Gwyn Gifford 6-1, 7-5 in the number one match-up. Alma Abazi improved to 14-1 this season with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Maisie Markowitz, and Clara Kuehnle won her eighth-straight singles with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Julia Santos. Ewa Samberger, Leana Chanove and Kseniia Eremina all picked up wins in the sweep.
 
Drury continues the road trip on Saturday with a match at Rockhurst starting at 2 pm in Kansas City, Missouri.
