SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury Panthers returned for their first home match since March 3 and blanked Missouri-St. Louis 7-0 on Saturday at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
 
Drury improved to 6-5 and dropped UMSL to 5-4.
 
The Panthers took a 1-0 lead after winning two of the three doubles matches. After Leana Chanove and Eliana Weichel got a 6-0 win over Anna Favaron and Lauren Sweeney, Alma Abazi and Ewa Samberger clinched the point with a 6-1 win over Anna Domingo/Maja Lietzau.
 
Drury then swept all six singles matches. Eliana Weichel won her third straight singles match with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Lauren Sweeney. Weichel's win clinched the win with the fourth point of the match for the Panthers. Ewa Samberger improved to 7-1 in singles with a 6-2, 6-4 win in Drury's number one position over Anna Domingo. Maria De la Torre Fernandez Espejo won a 10-8 third-set tie-breaker to complete the sweep for Drury.
 
The Panthers go back on the road on Sunday when they travel to Harding for a 1 pm match in Searcy, Arkansas.
