SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Panthers fell to Harding 5-2 in nine tightly contested matches on Sunday in Searcy, Arkansas.
 
Drury fell to 6-6, while Harding improved to 9-5.
 
The Bisons took a 1-0 as they took two of the three doubles matches. All three doubles match-ups were tightly contested, with Harding taking the number two doubles match 6-4, with Reka Pesci and Georgia Plunkett getting past Maria Ferdanda de la Torre Ugarte Espejo and Antanina Nokiv. Drury evened doubles competition as Alma Abazi and Ewe Samberger defeated Romane Britt and Karli Roux, 6-4. Harding took the point with the number three doubles match going to a tie-breaker that lasted nearly an hour. Grace Dodd and Sofia Ruiz took the point 7-6 (7-4) over Leana Chanove and Eliana Weichel.
 
All six singles matches went three sets, but Harding squeaked out four wins to clinch the match. Weichel opened singles play with a win for Drury as she won the number six match-up 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 over Natalia Alvarez. Espejo also earned a win and improved to 6-2 for the Panthers, winning the number five match, 5-7, 7-5, 6-2 against Madison Madison Stafford.
 
Ewe Samberger lost for just the second time in the spring season as Drury's lead singles player fell in three sets, with two of the three sets going to tie-breakers, in a 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-2), 6-1 win for Karli Roux.
 
The Panthers are idle until April 12, when they open their Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule at Rockhurst in Kansas City, Missouri.
