SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury rolled to a 6-0 win over William Woods in their final regular season home match of 2024 at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield. The Panthers raised their record to 9-6 and dropped the Owls, ranked 18^th in the NAIA, to 9-7.
 
The Panthers swept all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead in the match. Drury's lead doubles team, Alma Abazi and Ewa Samberger, ranked 46^th in NCAA-II, needed a tie-breaker but still defeated Marta Larraz and Hanna Lindeboom, ranked 10^th nationally in the NAIA, 7-6 (8-6). The win was the eighth straight for Abazi/Samberger and lifted their record to 12-3 in the spring.
 
Drury won five singles matches to get the win. The number six singles match-up was halted with the Panthers having clinched the win and leading 6-0. Samberger improved to 10-3 as she defeated the ninth-ranked player in the NAIA, Hanna Lindeboom, 6-1, 2-6, 1-0. Alma Albazi, Leana Chanove, Maria Fernanda de la Torre Ugarte Espejo, and Antanina Novik all picked up wins. Espejo won her sixth-straight singles match and improved to 10-2.
 
Drury returns to play in the Great Lakes Valley Conference on Saturday when they travel to Southwest Baptist for an 11 am match in Bolivar.
