SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury men's tennis team is ranked 22
nd in the final NCAA-II rankings by the Intercollege Tennis Association. Valdosta State, who won the NCAA-II Tournament earlier this month, ended the year ranked number one with Saint Leo ranked second and Flagler ranked number three.
Three teams from the Great Lakes Valley Conference are ranked in the top 25. Indianapolis ended the season ranked seventh, and McKendree is 19
th in the final poll.
Two Drury singles players ended the year nationally ranked.
Yaroslav Sharyy, a junior from Moscow, Russia, was ranked 21
st, and
Marlon Wilken, a senior from Oldenburg, Germany, was 72
nd in the final rankings.
One Drury women's player is also nationally ranked. Junior Ewa Sandberger ended the season ranked 69
th in singles,
The Drury men's tennis team ended the season with a 16-5 record, were West Division champions in the GLVC, advanced to the finals of the GLVC Tournament, and reached the NCAA-II Tournament for the 24
th time in program history. The women's squad was 13-7 and won the GLVC West Division.
