5/1/2025 4:08:00 PM

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury senior Yaroslav Sharyy was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year and three Drury players were named to the All-GLVC, the league announced this week. Sharyy, Matthieu Gachon, and Lukas Rieber were all named to the all-conference team in a vote of league coaches.

Sharyy was voted the GLVC Player of the Year after going 14-1 in singles. The senior from Moscow, Russia, is ranked 28th nationally in singles. Sharyy and doubles partner Lukas Rieber are ranked 23rd nationally in Division II and have posted a 13-1 record this season. Sharyy's Player of the Year award marks the eighth time in program history that a Drury men's player has taken the league's top honor, and he is the first player to win it since Nico Hadeler took the award in 2019. Sharyy's All-GLVC selection is the third all-conference award he has won during his three years at Drury.

Matthieu Gachon was also named an All-GLVC selection. A sophomore from Lyon, France, Gachon went 13-1 this spring in singles and posted a 4-0 conference record. Playing primarily in the number three singles position, Gachon won his lone match playing in the number two slot.

Sophomore Lukas Rieber was 10-4 overall in singles and 4-0 in the GLVC. The native of Augsburg, Germany, was 8-4 in the number four singles position and 2-0 playing the number three spot. Rieber is 14-1 this season in doubles play, with all of his doubles matches coming in the lead doubles position.

The Panthers are 12-4 and will play McKendree in the quarterfinal round of the GLVC Tournament on Friday at 4:30 pm in Springfield, Ill.
