Drury Triathlon Opens 2025 Season Saturday at Duquesne Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury triathlon opens its 2025 season Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Duquesne Invitational in Beaver Falls, Pa., with the women's wave to start at 7:30 a.m.
 
The 2025 Duquesne Invitational/Beaver County Tri Cup marks the first competition of the season for the Panthers and the team's first appearance in the event. Drury will race against numerous other NCAA programs, including Central, Delaware State, Duquesne, Eastern Mennonite, Gallaudet, La Salle, Millikin, North Central, Trine, Navy, and Wagner. The draft-legal race features a 750-meter swim, an 11.8-mile bike, and a 3.1-mile run. 
 
Drury returns a strong core of the 2024 West Regional Champions for the 2025 season. Kristina Vestman enters her junior year after earning first-team all-region and second-team all-American honors. Springfield native Alexis Workman also returns for her final year of eligibility after also earning first-team all-region and second-team all-American honors in 2024. 
 
Terry Dean enters his inaugural season as head coach of the Drury triathlon team. 
 
Looking ahead to October, the Panthers will compete in the Prairie State Cup in Clinton, Ill. The postseason starts Oct. 26 when the team travels to Fort Worth, Texas, as the reigning champion for the NCAA West Regional Qualifier. This year's NCAA National Championship is set for Nov. 8 in Tempe, Ariz.
