INDIANAPOLIS – Drury men's golf completed the shortened first day of the UIndy Fall Invitational on Monday at the Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis.
A rainy day in Indianapolis allowed Drury to get off a hot start. The Panthers held the lead in the 14-team field after six holes before finishing the first round in fourth place, shooting two-over par. After an hour and a half delay, the course reopened. The Panthers hit a slight wall in the second round but finished the night strong before the second round was called for darkness. Every player in the field has at least three holes to finish tomorrow morning.
Ellton Bostrom continued his strong start to the season by shooting two under in the first round.
Alex Wiseman was neck and neck with Bostrom for the entire first round, finishing the first 18 one-under par.
Zach Carter was having the best second round of any Panther before the round was called, shooting even par.
Meanwhile, Grand Valley State has moved ahead in the team competition. Through 14 holes in the second round, the Lakers are 28 strokes under par, 15 strokes clear of second-place Hillsdale. Grand Valley State also leads individually, with Bryce Wheeler in first and Andrew Gwilliams in second.
