INDIANAPOLIS – The Drury men's and women's track and field teams completed day one of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Indoor Championships on Saturday, Feb. 28, in Indianapolis.
The men's DMR team of Arturo Martinez,
Qwentin Luginbill,
Nolan Moeller, and
Kyle Keltner posted the Panthers' highest finish, placing second in 10:11.02.
Topi Alahuhta finished fifth in the 5,000 meters in 14:51.97, followed by
Ethan Haynes in eighth place in 15:02.32.
Anna Talbot had the highest finish for the women, placing third in the long jump with a distance of 5.68m, breaking her previous school record.
Delaney Riekert qualified for two finals on Sunday. Riekert placed sixth in the 400 meters in 58.04 and eighth in the 200 meters in 25.28.
Lauren Coleman finished ninth in the 200 meters, missing qualification by one spot.
The women's DMR team of
Jasmyn Douglas,
Alya Diable,
Morgan Faulkner, and
Georgi Carolus placed sixth in 12:39.66.
After day one, the men's team sits in fifth with 13 team points, while the women's team is eighth with nine points.
Tomorrow's field events begin with the women's triple jump at 11:30 a.m., while running events are set for a 1:15 p.m. start time.

Those who earn a national qualifying mark from the GLVC Indoor Championships will advance to the NCAA Indoor National Championships at Virginia Beach on March 13-14.
