CHICAGO, Ill. - The DU Volleyball Panthers fell 3-2 to Saginaw Valley State and 3-0 to Hillsdale to open play at the eighth annual Mizuno Midwest Region Crossover here on Friday.
Drury is now 13-6 and Saginaw Valley State improved to 15-3 and Hillsdale is now 12-9.
Saginaw won the match by scores of 19-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-20 and 15-11.
Brooke Antenen led Drury with a career-high 23 kills and added 31 assists and 14 digs.
BJ Specht finished with 13 kills and 25 digs.
McKenna Poynter matched Specht with a team-high 25 digs.
Chloe Foster finished with a team-high six block assists.
Andrea Brigham had a team-best 16 kills for Saginaw Valley.
Both teams struggled at the net Saginaw finishing at .173 and DU at .091.
In the nightcap Hillsdale posted winning scores of 25-25-20, 25-23 and 25-21.
Antenen led DU in kills once again with 11 and had 19 assists and Poynter had a team-high 15 digs. Hillsdale hit .308 for the match with the Panthers finishing at .205.
Drury will finish action at the Crossover with a match vs. Cedarville on Saturday at 1 p.m.
