Brooke Antenen had 13 kills and 25 assists to lead Drury to its sixth straight victory, a 3-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference triumph over Maryville on Saturday night at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
The win pushed DU's overall record to 13-2 - the program's best start since 1988 - and moved the Panthers to 5-1 in the GLVC, one-game behind Rockhurst (6-0) and one ahead of Missouri S&T (4-2) in the West standings entering a pivotal week on the road. Drury will travel to Rolla to play S&T Tuesday and then head to the Kansas City area for matches at Rockhurst on Friday and William Jewell on Saturday.
The Panthers dispatched of Maryville by scores of 25-15, 25-17 and 26-24.
BJ Specht added 11 kills and freshman
Bentley Mara had a career-high 10 kills for the Panthers, who got a team-high 13 digs from
Mallory Long.
Katelynn Slade added 11 assists and eight digs and Carly Fangmann had four kills and three blocks off the bench for DU, which won for the 21st time in its last 26 matches dating back to midway through last season, their first under head coach
Jenifer Bahner.
Laura Welling had nine kills and Taryn Trubich had 24 assists for the Saints (6-9, 1-5).
