BELLEVILLE, Ill. - The No. 20 Drury women's tennis team faced NCAA-III Washington University (Mo.) and downed the Bears 6-3 in their first road contest of the season Saturday at the Kings Point Racquet Club.
Drury goes to 3-0 and Washington, ranked #11 in NCAA-III is now 0-1.
Doubles was all Panthers as the DU swept Washington by scores of 8-4, 8-2 and 8-4.
Singles play saw a strong middle and upper lineup for DU with wins at No. 2 – No. 5.
Chung-Yen Huang won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3,
Josephine Jedrychowski blanked Brigitte Hodge 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 and
JiaQing Mo beat Lisa Chionis 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5.
Drury will return home to Cooper Tennis Complex on February 17 when they will face Oklahoma Baptist at 8 p.m.
