The Drury women's tennis team made quick work of Harding, beating the Bisons 7-2, Sunday at Cooper Tennis Complex.
20
th-ranked Drury improved to 9-0 and dropped Harding to 4-3.
Drury's
Larissa Karl and
Julia Schepp played well at No. 1 doubles, as the two defeated Milou Dalmolen and Laura Golubic, 8-2.
At No. 2 doubles, the duo of
JiaQing Mo and
Lara Muller won over Gabriella Alves and Brittany Smyser 8-5, while
Josephine Jedrychowski and
Chung-Yen Huang earned an 8-3 victory over Emily Faulkner and Arielle Butler.
In singles play, Jedrychowski made quick work of Smyser at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0, with Mo also showing a dominant effort over Faulkner, 6-1, 6-1. At No. 4., Schepp won her opening set 6-2, then edged out Butler 7-6 in the second set for the win. Freshman
Arianna Demos claimed a 4-6, 6-3(10-4) three set win over Dalmolen at the No. 6 spot.
Harding claimed both of their victories at the top two spots in the lineup. Alves won in three sets at the No. 1 spot, 3-6, 6-5, 6-1 and Golubic won at No. 2 by scores of 6-3, 6-1.
On March 10
th, Drury will play host to Northwest Missouri State at Cooper Tennis Complex at 2 p.m.
