The 14th-ranked Drury women's tennis team picked up 8-1 GLVC win over Quincy on Friday at Cooper Tennis Complex.
The Panthers improved to 17-2 overall, and 4-1 in GLVC play for the year, with Quincy falling to 9-11, 2-4 GLVC.
In doubles play, Drury dominated both at No. 1, winning 8-3, and at No. 2 with an 8-4 victory.
Arianna Demos and
Larissa Karl took care of the Hawks in a close one, 9-7, at No. 3.
Both No. 1 and No. 2 singles went to three sets. 44th-ranked Karl took the top spot, 3-6, 6-1(12-10), with Quincy winning at No. 2 by a 3-6, 7-5(12-10) score.
The Panthers took No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6 singles by 6-1, 6-0 scores, with
Chung-Yen Huang winning at No. 3,
Josephine Jedrychowski winning at No. 5, and
Elizaveta Tregubova taking No. 6.
JiaQing Mo handled her match at No. 5 with no problems for a 6-3, 6-0 win.
On April 15, Drury will face Truman State in a GLVC home match, and their regular season finale. Match time is set for an 11 a.m. start at Cooper Tennis Complex.
