SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury's
Madison Smith was named the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Co-Bowler of the Week for her performance at the Crusader Classic hosted by Valparaiso University last weekend. Smith shared the award this week Breanna Clemmer from McKendree.
Smith finished seventh individually at the Crusader Classic and averaged 198.4 in five games. The sophomore from Springfield-Parkview maintained her consistency throughout the entire event, filling more than 86 percent of her frames for the tournament and finished with a per frame average of 20.24. Smith was instrumental in Drury finishing eighth this past weekend and achieving their first top 10 finish.
Smith is Drury's first weekly honoree in program history. The Panthers are in their second year as an NCAA program and MIAA member.
The Drury women's bowling team returns to action Feb. 23-25 at the Central Missouri/Lincoln University Invitational.
