ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The 14th-ranked Drury women's tennis team downed UMSL 5-1 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match on Saturday at the UMSL Tennis Courts.

Drury improved to 11-1 overall and 2-0 in the league, while UMSL slipped to 7-4 overall and 0-1 in the GLVC.

The Panthers captured two of the three doubles matches, getting the best of UMSL by scores of 9-8 at the top of the lineup and 8-4 at the No. 3 position.  The Tritons cut the lead to 2-1 with an 8-4 victory at No. 2 by Kristina Lindal and Salome Bleuler.

Drury's top three singles players all won to seal the victory. Larissa Karl won over Lindal by scores of 7-5, 6-2 at the top spot.  Josephine Jedrychowski got it done in three sets at the second spot 2-6, 6-2, 6-1.  JiaQing Mo handled Marina Prediger by a 6-3, 7-5 margin for the Panthers third win.

Drury will host William Jewell in a GLVC match on April 6 at Cooper Tennis Complex.  First serve is set for 2 p.m.
