No. 10 DU Women's Tennis Edges Past No. 8 UNIDY for 5-4 Victory

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – In a battle of top 10 teams, the 10th ranked Drury women's tennis team edged past 8th-ranked Indianapolis with a 5-4 win at Cooper Tennis Complex on Sunday.

Drury improved to 8-0 and UINDY fell to 7-2.

In doubles play Drury posted winning scores of 8-3 at No .1 and won 8-4 at No. 3.  UINDY stayed in the match with a 9-7 victory at No. 2.

With the match on the line, Julia Schepp gave the Panthers a key win with her 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 6 over Pam Brito Torres.  UINDY proved tough at the top of the lineup taking No. 1 through No. 3.  Josephine Jedrychowski earned a 6-3, 6-2 win over Mara Hofstetter and JiaQing Mo downed Chloe Weihs 6-0, 6-2 at the four and five sports in the DU lineup.

The Drury women will host South Dakota State on March 18 at Cooper Tennis Complex with first serve set for noon.
