KIRKSVILLE, Mo.– The 16th ranked Drury women's tennis team swept Truman State 9-0 on Friday in Kirksville, Missouri.
The Panthers improved to 14-1 and 5-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while dropping the Bulldogs to 2-9 and 1-4 on the league.
Chung-Yen Huang, playing in Drury's lead singles position, needed three sets and a 12-10 tie-breaker win to get past Lindsey Schlichting. It was Huang's second time in the Panthers number one singles spot, and she improved to 7-3 on the season with the win.
Viktoriya Zheleva and Svea Voigt both won 6-0, 6-0 in their singles match-ups.
Drury started the match sweeping all three rounds in doubles. The doubles team of Josephine Jedrychowski and Viktoriya Zheleva won 8-1 to improve to 7-1 as a pair this season.
The shutout marked the third time this season the Panthers have swept their opponent.
Drury ends the regular season on Saturday when they play at Quincy. The match starts at 11 a.m. in Quincy, Illinois.
