SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The 18th ranked Drury women's tennis team opens play in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament on Friday against Lewis in the quarterfinals at 1 p.m. at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
The Panthers are 15-1 and won the West Division title in the regular season going 6-0 in the league. Drury is currently ranked first in the Midwest Region.
Lewis finished the regular season with a 10-8 record and went 3-2 in the East Division of the GLVC.
Other match-ups in the GLVC quarterfinals include East Division champion Bellarmine (20-2, 4-1) against Rockhurst (9-9, 3-3), University of Missouri-St. Louis vs. Illinois Springfield (12-7, 3-2), and Indianapolis (14-5, 4-1) vs. Maryville (9-6, 3-2).
Each of Friday's quarterfinals match-ups start at 1 p.m. The semifinals are Saturday at 1 p.m., and the championship of the tournament is at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The Cooper Tennis Complex will host each round of the GLVC men's and women's tournament.
The Panthers have won the GLVC tournament seven times in their 11 years in the conference.
