Panthers edge UMSL 4-3 on Senior Day

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- 22nd ranked Drury won their Senior Day match as they edged the University of Missouri-St. Louis 4-3 on Saturday at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.

The Panthers improved to 10-3 and 2-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while the Tritons fell to 7-4 and 0-2 in the league.

Drury took a 1-0 lead winning two of out three doubles matches. JiaQing Mo and Yu-Ning Lee got past Marina Prediger and Leticia Lunge 6-3 while Isabella Melena and Julia Schepp got a 6-2 win over Clara Lopez and Bianca Buie.

In singles, Lee earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Salome Bleuler and Mo defeated Lunge 6-1, 6-3. The Panthers clinched the match in Schepp's three-set win over Buie as the senior from Bielefeld, Germany bounced back from a 5-7 loss in the opening set and won the next two sets 6-2, 6-2.

Drury returns to action on Friday with a 2 pm match at William Jewell.
