Kenosha, Wis.— Sophomore
Bradley Weimer places eighth overall in the 6,000-meter race at the NCAA-II Midwest Regional meet. The Panthers overall finished eleventh overall with 294 points.
For Weimer's finish, she was named to the All-Midwest Region Team. Weimer will race at the NCAA National Meet on December 2
nd in University Place, Washington at Chambers Creek Regional Park. The Springfield Central product ran a career-best 21:48.16 6,000-meter run as she moved up to third all-time in Drury history in the 6,000-meter race behind Claire McCune, Erin Dolan. Weimer is also Drury's third runner to make the national meet in Drury's history. Claire McCune and Erin Dolan have also represented the Panthers with McCune qualifying four times, and only racing twice.
The Panthers had their top 5 runners finish in the top 100. Freshman
Zoe Van Dijk finished in 40th place with a time of 22:47.48 while senior
Jayme-Sue Vermaas finished 56
th with a time of 23:02.09. Rounding out the top five for Drury was sophomore
Brylee Gogel finished 94
th with a time of 23:38.82 and sophomore
Mia Harris in 100
th with a time of 23:41.45. The Panthers finished five points behind Findlay for tenth place.
Weimer will race for the NCAA-II national title on December 2
nd in University Place, Washington at Chambers Creek Regional Park.
