SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury won their first dual of the season with a 33-8 win over the University of the Ozarks on Tuesday night at Weiser Gym.
 
The match marked the Panthers return to the mat for the first time since Dec. 16-17 when they competed in the Midwest Classic at Indianapolis.
 
Zach McCullough, wrestling at 133 pounds, gave Drury their first points of the match with a win by technical fall of Corey Muniz. The Panthers followed with three wins coming from Seth Otis (141), Ben Stahlman (157) and Grant Taylor (165). Stahlman's win was his team-leading 19th of the season.
 
"We had some guys coming back from illnesses or from being banged up, and we were still missing two guys, but I was really proud of how everybody performed," said Drury head coach James Reynolds. "We came back in a lot of matches tonight just because of our guys' mentality, and they just continued to wrestle."
 
John Oss, a senior from Ozark, won by fall over Miguel Baray at 184 pounds giving Oss his 10th win in the weight class with nine of those victories coming by fall.
 
Jered Rennick improved to 11-4 on the season with a 7-5 decision over Cameron Barnes at 197 pounds and heavyweight Ben Melton ended the night with a victory when Adolfo Sotolongo was injured 2:48 into the match.
 
The Panthers improved to 1-4 and dropped the University of the Ozarks to 5-8.
 
Drury hosts GLVC duals on Saturday at the O'Reilly Family Event Center. The Panthers host 19th ranked Maryville at 2 p.m., and fifth-ranked McKendree at 4 p.m.
