Drury Dozen- the top 12 moment's of '18-19: #3- Lady Panthers advance to the D-II Final Four

Throughout the latter part of the summer, Drury Athletics will reveal the Drury Dozen – over favorite 12 moments from the 2018-19 sports season. The list was voted on by members of the Drury University athletics staff and others that covered DU Athletics.

The list on this countdown does not reflect the most significant moments from the year, although the magnitude of the game or event certainly played a part in our decision.

Ultimately, these were our favorite moments from the previous year and the ones that we will likely always associate with the 2018-19 Drury sports season.

#3 – Lady Panthers advance to the D-II Final Four
Drury advanced to Columbus, Ohio and their fourth Elite Eight appearance in program history. The Lady Panthers were matched up in the quarterfinals with Nova Southeastern, a team they had beaten earlier in the season in Florida.

Drury figured the second meeting would be much tougher.  They cruised to an 86-63 win over the Sharks in Florida, but Nova added players at mid-season and would be better prepared for DU's pressure defense this time.

Those factors didn't matter. The Lady Panthers would hit another gear, and their vaunted defense produced 40 turnovers on the way to a 91-60 victory.

Hailey Diestelkamp continued her postseason heroics with 26 points while Daejah Bernard had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The win advanced the Lady Panthers to their second Final Four in program history.
