Drury Dozen- the top 12 moment's of '18-19: #2- DU volleyball beats Hillsdale in NCAA-II tournament

Throughout the latter part of the summer, Drury Athletics will reveal the Drury Dozen – over favorite 12 moments from the 2018-19 sports season. The list was voted on by members of the Drury University athletics staff and others that covered DU Athletics.

The list on this countdown does not reflect the most significant moments from the year, although the magnitude of the game or event certainly played a part in our decision.

Ultimately, these were our favorite moments from the previous year and the ones that we will likely always associate with the 2018-19 Drury sports season.

#2 – Drury volleyball wins home regional match vs. Hillsdale
The Drury volleyball team capped an amazing season by not only reaching the NCAA-II tournament for the first time in program history but hosting the Midwest Regional as the number one seed.

The Panthers also won their first GLVC regular season title in team history as they finished in a three-way tie for first in the conference standings with a 15-3 mark.

The NCAA awarded Drury home-court in the regional and the Panthers took advantage as Nov. 15th turned into one of the O'Reilly Family Event Center's loudest nights of the year. It took a set for the Panthers to get going as eighth-seeded Hillsdale took the first set 25-20. Drury got momentum in the second set and rode that to bigger wins in the third and fourth sets.

It was a win for Drury in their first-ever NCAA tournament game and a memorable highlight to an incredible 28-7 breakthrough season for Panthers volleyball.
