The Drury Dozen is an annual list of our favorite moments of the year from Drury Athletics. The list is not necessarily the most significant events but the special games and moments we will always associate with 2021-22.
Â
We'll provide honorable mention selections later in the countdown, but, for now, here is our eighth entry from 2021-22:
Â
#5- Men's swimming & diving finishes as NCAA-II Runner-Up    Â
Â
March 12, 2022 – Greensboro, NC
While Drury may have finished 85.5 points behind Queens (NC) for the national title, the Panthers strong showing at the NCAA-II National Championship was one of the year's best moments. A month earlier, Drury was edged in the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship by Indianapolis for the league title, which set the tone for figured to be a multi-team fight for the national title.
Â
The Panthers were in third place at the end of the first night of competition but moved up on day two and hung on to that spot through the meet, avenging their loss to UIndy in the GLVC and earning national runner-up honors for the second year in a row.
