Brooke Byl (Antenen) was a Drury volleyball standout from 2013-16 and received All-Midwest Region First-Team honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association as a senior as she became the first Panther volleyball player to win AVCA All-Region honors since Drury moved to the NCAA Division II level in 1994.

Her versatility at multiple positions made her a top performer for head coach Jenifer Bahner’s program. As a senior, Byl led Drury with 2.93 kills per set, and her 43 service aces were tops in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. She reached double figures in kills, assists and digs in 11 matches during the season, a figure that led the nation in Division II. She won All-GLVC First-Team honors each of her last two Drury seasons. She led the Panthers in assists each year with 934 as a freshman, 1,016 her sophomore year, 986 as a junior, and 773 her senior campaign. Her career assist total of 3,709 assists is fifth-best all-time at Drury.

Byl led Drury to a 20-12 mark her senior season with an 11-7 GLVC record as Drury notched consecutive 20-win seasons for the first time since the 1992-93 campaigns. Byl posted 1,027 career kills with 1,190 digs and 131 service aces as she was the team leader for the Panthers in her final two seasons on her way to conference and regional honors.

Byl came to Drury from Neuqua High School in Naperville, Ill., where she was her team’s most valuable player and an all-state selection her final year. She also earned two Upstate Eight All-Conference selections, and her play led Neuqua to a conference title in her senior campaign. She also collected academic all-conference honors in her final year.
