A former prep standout at Springfield's Parkview High School, earned his undergraduate degree from Drury in 2001 and concluded his playing career as a Panther a year later while pursuing a Master's Degree in Business Administration. Whle at Parkview, Miller scored a Springfield Public Schools-record 1,751 career points, a trend that continued in his time in a Drury uniform. After receiving a medical redshirt for the 1997-98 season, Miller became Drury's third all-time leading scorer with 2,024 points over the next four seasons and still holds virtually every DU 3-point shooting record. In 2000, Miller led the Panthers to their first-ever NCAA-II national tournament berth, scoring 35 points vs. Washburn in what is a school-record for a post-season game. Miller is the only Panther basketball player to earn NCAA-II All-America honors twice (2001 and 2002), and was also the Heartland Conference Player of the Year in each of those seasons, as well as an Academic All-America choice. In 2002, Miller was nominated for the NCAA Today's Top VIII Award, one of the most prestigious honors bestowed by the NCAA, and on February 8, 2003, had his No. 22 jersey retired to the rafters of Weiser Gym.
