Ron Staab is the third swimmer to be inducted into the Drury Sports Hall of Fame. He followed Wayne Schrier and Michelle Langsford who were both inducted in 1995. Ron came to Drury in the fall of 1980 from Indianapolis, Indiana where he was one of the state's best swimmers. While at Drury he was the Panthers' team M.V.P. his junior and senior seasons, earned numerous NAIA All-American and National Championship honors and was also an Academic All-American. A freestyle and backstroke specialist, Staab also qualified for the 1984 U.S. Olympic trials in the 100-yard backstroke. A business administration major, Ron graduated on May 6, 1984.
