The Panther women's swimming/diving program started in the fall of 1988 and a young freshman that year by the name of Cashel Mack began her illustrious Drury swimming career. The fifth female swimmer to be inducted into the Drury Sports Hall of Fame, Cashel helped lead Drury to its first women's NAIA national title as a senior as she was part of five national championship relay teams at that 1992 national meet. Four of those relay teams broke national records. A butterfly and freestyle specialist, Cashel also finished second in the 100 fly and fifth in the 200 fly while adding a seventh place finish in the 50 freestyle to her long list of accomplishments. Her first three years Cashel earned swimming All-America honors while leading the women's team to seventh place, fifth place and third place finishes at the NAIA national championships in 1989, 1990 and 1991, respectively. Cashel graduated from Drury on August 14, 1993 with a degree in elementary education. The native of St. Louis is now a head coach of a U.S. swimming program in the Tampa-Clearwater area in Florida.
