Stephanie Bates is the second volleyball player to be inducted into the Drury Sports Hall of Fame. Paul Wohnhas was inducted in 1995. Stephanie was a 1990 NAIA Honorable Mention All-American pick, the second of only three Drury volleyball players to earn NAIA All-American honors. She was also an all-district and all-region selection and a four-year varsity letterman. She is tenth on Drury's all-time list for games played with 498 and eighth in attack kills with 982. Stephanie earned her A.B. degree on May 12, 1991 and was named the Exercise and Sport Science Department's "major" of the year. Since her graduation from Drury she has been a teacher/coach at Salem (Mo.) High School. This past fall, under the direction of Stephanie, the Salem volleyball team won the MSHSAA 3-A state title.
