A native of Ronneby, Sweden, Cecilia Gadd was part of the "Swedish Trio" that helped the Panthers dominate the NAIA swimming and diving championships in the early 1990's. Gadd, Lourette Hakansson (who was inducted last year into the Drury Hall of Fame) and Eva-Marie Eriksson led the Panthers to a third place finish at the NAIA national meet in 1991 and to three straight national championships in 1992, 1993 and 1994. Cecilia entered her senior year as a 21-time All-American. In her senior year she added seven more All-American honors to her list, leading the Panthers to titles in four relays, as well as claiming the national championship in the three sprint freestyle events: the 50, 100 and 200-yard freestyle events. Cecilia was a dominant force in the NAIA for four years and was also a part of the Panthers' transition into becoming a dominant force in the NCAA-II as she was an assistant coach while completing her master's degree in education.
