A native of North Platte, Neb., graduated from Drury in 2000 with a 3.98 grade point average, while at the same time, established himself as possibly the nation's best diver over a three-year period after transferring to DU from North Dakota. Lehmkuler was a three-time NCAA national champion in one-meter diving and the national runner-up on the three-meter board his junior and senior seasons, earning Most Valuable Diver honors at nationals in 1999 and 2000. He still holds the DU records for the one-meter board (537.65 points) and three-meter board (620.25 points). Lehmkuhler earned Academic All-America honors all four years of college and was also a finalist for an NCAA-II Post Graduate Scholarship upon his graduation.
