Hall of Fame
Chris Mortellaro was a two-time All-American for the men's basketball program during his career that spanned from 2000-04. His 1,582 career points still rank 14th best in program history and he broke the team's single-season scoring record in 2003-04, putting up 693 points (a mark that stood for nine years until Alex Hall surpassed the total in 2012-13). Mortellaro was named an All-American in 2003 and 2004 and was a three-time First Team All-Heartland Conference selection. He still holds the program record for free throws made in a season (217) and free throws made in a game (17). Mortellaro helped lead the Panthers to the Heartland Conference title in 2004 and an NCAA-II Tournament appearance that season.
