Chip Parker has been a part of Drury’s scorer’s table crew for nearly four decades. After filling in for someone during a Thanksgiving holiday tournament in the 1980s, Parker maintained a role on the scorer’s table crew. Parker has also been alongside for several District 16, NCAA regional and conference tournaments during his time working men’s and women’s basketball games.

After graduating from Drury in May of 1983, Parker started my working career in Drury’s Admission Office as an Admission Counselor, recruiting future Drury students. In 2024-25, he entered his 42nd year working at Drury University in various offices throughout his career. Parker spent 27 years in the Admission Office, and served as Director of Admission for the last eight of those years. During that time, he completed a graduate degree from Drury in 1989 with my Masters of Education. In 2010, Parker transitioned to Student Affairs where I became the first Director of Retention, and currently serves as the Associate Dean of Students for Student Success. In the spring of 2024, he spent six months in the Advancement Office as the Director of Alumni Relations but realized he missed being with the students and returned to Student Affairs that summer.

Parker serves as an advisor for several student organizations on campus, Panthers First, which is for Drury’s first-generation students and the Commuter Student Association. He is still connected as an advisor for his fraternity while in school, Kappa Alpha, and has served over the years on various committees for local community organizations.
