Records indicate that Steve Grace is the only Drury athlete to have played in NAIA national championships in two different sports. A Springfield native, Steve was a four-year letterman in tennis and basketball, helping Drury to M.C.A.U. singles championship in tennis three times and was a quarterfinalist one year at the conference championships. He played on two basketball conference championships...with the 1968 team making it to the quarterfinals of the NAIA national basketball championships. He ranks 26th on the Drury basketball all-time scoring list with 1,083 points and still holds the single game scoring record of 45 points. That outburst took place at Missouri Valley College on February 29, 1965. Now a physician in Springfield, Steve was a biology major and graduated from Drury on June 2, 1968.
