Drury's first 1,000-point scorer and its first basketball player to earn NAIA All-American honors, Charlie Crosby was a member of the Drury basketball program for four years (1952-56). His 1,034 career points still ranks 30th on the Drury all-time scoring list and his single season mark of 498 points his senior campaign is 27th of the single season scoring list. The Panthers were a .500 team during his four-year career, but Charlie was far from an average player. His senior year he averaged 26.5 points per game in conference play, and was a First-Team All MCAU selection. He was nominated to join the USA Olympic All-Star team his senior year, but declined because "it would take me out of school for a couple of weeks." A native of Branson, Missouri, Charlie was a member of the Student Senate and was a "Joe College" candidate his senior year. A highly-successful high school coach in Illinois after his graduation, Charlie now resides in Forsyth, Missouri. Charlie graduated from Drury College on May 28, 1956.
